  Welcome to The White Box... Hello and thank you for visiting! If you're here viewing my website, you've probably been referred by myself or a friend who has seen and/or tasted a cake made by me. Let me introduce myself! My name is Janet Whalen and I dabble in the art of cake decorating. I started cake decorating in preparation for my oldest daughter's fifth birthday party in 2002. Like many other doting Moms, I wanted to make the perfect cake for my little girl! I took my first Wilton Cake Decorating class at my local craft store and found my calling. Since then, I have completed all three levels of the Wilton Cake Decorating Courses and have had the privilege of making many cakes for various friends and family members. Like many things in life, I've found that cake decorating is a life-long journey of learning. Keep checking back to see what the latest roads travelled have taught me! What's In A Name..... Hmmm.....The White Box? What's up with that? I give credit for the name, The White Box, to my very understanding and supporting husband, Mike. His reasoning for suggesting this name was,"Cakes and desserts always come in a white box!" My hopes are to soon have my own home-based business with this very name.
